You can permanently disable (also known as remove) your account if you decide to leave IMVU by following a few easy steps. This is how: 1) Visit www.imvu.com’s Account Settings page. Click “Delete my account” in Step 2. 3) Enter your password (4) Verify that this account is permanently disabled by you by checking the box next to it. 5) Press OK. Keep in mind that closing your account will not remove any of your previous purchases, possessions, or material. For this reason, if you anticipate returning in the future, we advise deactivating rather than deleting because doing so preserves all of your data in case you need access in the future (see below for details.). After a deleted account has been reactivated, if you want your purchases to be restored, please submit a support request by clicking here.
Your account is completely unreachable once you remove it, but all of your transactions, products, and content will still be stored on our servers. This implies that nobody, not even you, may access them. We, including us here at IMVU HQ, will not remember your account’s history (such as purchases made) if you return to IMVU at a later time. If you anticipate returning in the future, deactivating is advised rather than deleting because it still gives you access to previously bought things. * After a deleted account has been reactivated, if you want your purchases to be restored, please submit a support request by clicking here.
When you deactivate your account, it will be temporarily disabled, but unlike when you delete it (see above), all of your data will still be there if you decide to come back later. This is how: 1) Visit www.imvu.com’s Account Settings page. Click “Deactivate my account” in Step 2. 3) Type in your password 4) Verify that the account is being temporarily disabled by checking the box 5) Click OK! *IMPORTANT NOTE: Please wait a few months before reactivating your username if you are deactivating it and wish to use it again in the future. We advise waiting until November or December to reactivate your account, for instance, if you deactivate it in February and want to do it in September.
This is due to the fact that all usernames are given out on a first-come, first-served basis and are promptly taken after being deleted, making it possible for someone else to snag that name before you can activate it once more.
There is a way to challenge a temporary ban placed on your account because of policy violations. Under Section 5a of our Terms of Service Agreement, you have the following options for challenging a temporary restriction of fewer than seven days: 1) Visit www.imvu.com’s Account Settings page. 2) Select “Reconsider my banned account.” 3. Type your password in. 4) Verify that “I confirm this is a ban appeal” is checked. 5) Press OK. If your account has been permanently suspended (you won’t be able to log in again), then 1) Visit www.imvu.com’s Account Settings page. 2) Select “Permanently Appeal my Blocked Account.” 3. Type your password in. 4)
Check the box next to “I confirm that this is an appeal for a permanent ban.” 5) Press OK. Please erase the improper username before appealing if it contained any personal information because it might be deleted. Please give an email address in case we require it so that we can make sure we have the correct contact information linked with your account.
